Jerry’s Curriculum Vitae

Jerry has worked in the social care field for the last 30 years mainly in operational management, staff development and employer support.  He has also developed skills as a Focusing trainer offering courses and individual sessions for self development and overcoming action blocks.  He is committed to involving people who use services and enabling people to take control of their services.  He is currently conducting research into ways of effectively managing the relationship between people who undertake social care work and those who receive services.

Achievements include: Developing a ‘Made to Measure’ toolkit for employer engagement;  Reviewing access to training for direct payments employers, bringing together partners to develop a skills brokerage service for the social care sector, Analysis of the skills balance sheet for social care and the voluntary and community sectors.

Achievements include: Developing training for safeguarding adults, setting up quality circles led by people who use services, developing a clear process for management development, training people who use services as trainers, setting p the ASW refresher programme. Setting up disability equality training, managing quality assurance programmes.
